FORMAL MILITARY SERVICE PROGRAM FOR DISABLED CITIZENS

• The Turkish Armed Forces conducted a symbolic military service practice on 13 May 2016 for the persons with disabilities who cannot be drafted according to Article 1111 of the Military Law to allow them to do their military service symbolically, and feel and enjoy the military atmosphere, even for a short time.
• In this scope;
  7686 disabled citizens joined the Symbolic Military Service Practice conducted in 75 different centers throughout Turkey in 2016 and experienced symbolic military service for one day. At end of the practice the participants were given “Symbolic Demobilization Certificates”.
• The Turkish Armed Forces is planning to conduct 2017 Symbolic Military Practice on 12 May 2017 all around Turkey.
