EXERCISES AND SHOWS

  • Red Flag Exercise, hosted by USA, was held between 29 February and 12 March 2016 with participation of Turkish Air Force at Nellis Air Base/USA
  • The aim of the exercise was to reinforce identification, interrogative Friend or Foe, Air Control and Management procedures during a combined joint operation conducted by NATO Allies and Turkish Air Forces.
  • Turkish Air Force participated in the exercise with F-16 and KC-135R aircrafts.
  • TURAZ Şahini Exercise, hosted by Turkey, was held between 07 and 25 March 2016 with participation of Azerbajian Air Forces at 3rd Main Jet Base (Konya).
  • The aim of the exercise was to improve the interoperability between Turkey and Azerbaijan in the field of air operations, as well as being opportunities for Turkish and Azerbaijan Air Forces to share ideas and experiences.
  • Turkish Air Forces and Azerbaijan Air Forces participated in the exercise with air units and jet aircrafts.
  • Joint Warrior Exercise, hosted by UK, was held between 09 and 21 April 2016 with participation of Turkish Air Forces units at RAF Lossiemouth Air Base/England.
  • The aim of the exercise was to share experiences and enhance mutual corporation between naval and air units of participants.
  • Turkish Air Force participated in the exercise with F-16 aircrafts.
  • Anadolu Şahini Exercise, hosted by Turkey, was held between 11 and 22 April 2016 with participation of USA Air Forces at 3rd Main Jet Base (Konya).
  • The Aim of the exercise was to share experiences and enhance mutual corporation in the field of air operations between Turkish Air Force and USA Air Force.
  • USA Air Force and Turkish Air Force participated in the exercise with air units and jet aircrafts.
  • NATO Tiger Meet Exercise; hosted by Spain, was held between 16 and 27 May 2016 with participation of Turkey, Germany, Belgium, Czechia, France, Holland, England, Italy, Spain, Swiss, Hungarian, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Greece and NATO represantatives at Zaragoza Air Base/Spain.
  • The aim of the exercise was to improve the interoperability between Tiger members’ squadrons in the field of air operations, as well as having opportunities for participants to share ideas and experiences.
  • Tiger members’ squadrons participated in the exercise.
  • International Anadolu Kartalı Training, hosted by Turkey, was held between 30 May and 10 June 2016 with participation of Holland, Italy, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan and NATO Allies at 3rd Main Jet Base (Konya).
  • The aim of the training was to improve the interoperability between in the field of air operations, as well as being opportunities for participants to share ideas and experiences.
  • Participants executed the training with national and international air units and jet aircrafts.
  • International Anatolian Phoenix (Anadolu Anka’sı) Exercise, hosted by Turkey, was held between 20 and 30 June 2016 with participation of Azerbajian, TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus), Hungarian, Romanian ans Saudi Arabia at 3rd Main Jet Base (Konya).
  • The aim of the exercise was to develop personnel rescue operations under the command and control process, to cooperate between CSAR assets, to improve Survival and Air Medevac skills and to enhance the level of interoperability and to determine areas of cooperation.
  • National and International participant participated in the exercise with CSAR assets and the helicopters.
  • Deniz Yıldızı-2016 Exercise conducted at Marmara and Black Sea with participation of naval assets and air force units of Turkish Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard, between 28 March-05 April 2016.
  • The aim of the exercise was to strengthen and improve the operation possibilities and capabilities of the participant units, also to support maintaining maritime security at Black Sea.
  • Naval and air units of Navy and Coast Guard and bomber/hunter aircrafts and AWACS of Air Force participated in the exercise.
  • Exercise BEYAZ FIRTINA-2016 conducted at Marmara, Egean and Mediterranean Sea with participation of naval assets and air force units of Turkish Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard, between 16 March-05 April 2016.
  • The aim of the exercise was to try operation plans, increase the level of combat readiness and familiarity to the tactics and conduct guided missile firings of the participant units on fleet/task group level.
  • Naval and air units of Navy and Coast Guard and bomber/hunter aircrafts and AWACS of Air Force participated in the exercise.
  • Martyr Ensign Caner GÖNYELİ-2016 Search and Rescue Exercise were held between 06 and 09 June 2016 in territorial waters, mainland and air space of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). As well as in the international waters within the Search and Rescue Region of Turkey.
  • The aim of the annually conducted exercise was to improve the interoperability between Turkey and TRNC in the field of search and rescue and to enhance the training of SAR units.
  • Search and rescue units both from Turkey and TRNC participated in the exercise, as well as observer from various nations.
  • Sea Lion-2016 Search and Rescue Exercise were held between 03 and 06 May 2016 in the international waters of Eagen Sea within the Search and Rescue Region of Turkey.
  • The aim of the biennial conducted exercise was to improve the interoperability and to enhance the training of joint Turkish SAR units.
  • Turkish Army, Navy, Air Forces and Coast Guard units participated in the exercise, as well as Republic of Turkey Ministery of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Comminication (MSRCC).
  • EFES-2016 Combined Joint Live Fire Exercise, hosted by Turkey, was conducted between 04 May and 30 June 2016 at Doğanbey Live Exercise Area.
  • The aim of the exercise was to sustain the combat readiness level of Turkish Land Forces units and participants (Germany, USA, Azerbaijan, United Kingdom, Qatar, Pakistan, Poland, Saudi Arabia) in a combined joint operation environment.
  • EFES-2016 was conducted as a joint live fire exercise for he first time with the participation of 880 personnel from 8 different countries.
  • Erciyes Exercise, Erciyes-2016 Battalion Task Force Joint Air Drop Exercise was conducted between 24 and 25 May 2016 at Karasazlık/Kayseri.
  • The aim of the exercise was to test and improve implementation of probable operational plans as well as enhancing the syncrhonization of fire and maneuver.
  • In addition to maneuver units, four utility helicopters and two attack helicopters from TLS as well as one CN-35 CASA aircraft and three C-130 cargo aircrafts from TAF participated in the exercise.
  • Land units of the Turkish Land Forces, 4 Utility Helicopters (UH), 2 Attack Helicopters (AH), 1 CN-35 CASA Plane and 3 C-130 transport aircrafts of Turkish Air Forces participated in the exercise.
  • Turkey-Pakistan Bilateral Commando and Special Forces Exercise (Atatürk 2016) was conducted between 13 and 29 March 2016 in Islamabad/Pakistan with the participation of units from Turkey and Pakistan.
  • The aim of the exercise was to develop skills and knowledge in planning and conducting joint ops in Commando and Mountain Warfare environment and to enhance interoperability.
  • Anakonda 2016 Exercise was conducted as an operational /tactical level CPX and FTX between 06 and 17 June 2017 in Poland with cooperation between USA and Poland. This exercise was hosted by Poland and coordinated with Poland and USA at operational and tactic levels as Command Post and live field training exercise.
  • The aim of the exercise was to prepare and to enhance cooperation and interoperability amongst participating nations for multinational operations.
  • 31000 personnel from 24 different nations participated in the exercise, with Turkey contributing 44 personnel at different positions.
  • Rapid Trident Exercise was conducted between 27 June and 08 July 2016 in Lıviv/ Ukraine.
  • The aim of the exercise was to enhance training, cooperation, interoperability amongst the participant countries, prepare staff and units for the conduct of multinational Peace Support Operations by training them in a systematic manner.
  • 4 personnel from Turkish Land Forces participated in the exercise.
  • NATO-Georgia Exercise was conducted between 10 and 21 November 2016 in the Tbilisi/Georgia.
  • The aim of the exercise was to train Multinational Brigade Headquarters in the Crisis Response Operations.
  • 5 personnel from Turkish Land Forces participated in the exercise.
